The Government has recently announced that they will be delaying the introduction of Making Tax Digital (MTD) for small Businesses and the self-employed. MTD was originally supposed to be introduced in April 2023 this has now been delayed by a year, making the new introduction date April 2024. The reason for this delay is to allow for small businesses and the self-employed to have enough time to prepare for the changes that will need to be made to comply with MTD (Such as implementing systems that allow for digital records and quarterly digital submissions of income to be made, as is required under MTD)

The introduction date of MTD for Income Tax Self-Assessment for general partnerships will be at the beginning of the tax year April 2025 (the date for other types of partnerships will be confirmed in the future).
