VAT returns: shelter from the storm

About 90% of our bookkeeping clients use James Bell & Co to prepare and submit their quarterly online VAT returns. This is because VAT returns can be stressful and disruptive – whereas our experienced staff take on the whole VAT task, leaving you free to work on your business.

We process Output VAT – the VAT you charge on your sales of goods and services, along with Input VAT – the VAT added to the price when you purchasegoods or services. This provides us with the figures to complete your VAT return.

Once we’ve completed your VAT return, we will to let you know the amount. When we have your approval, will we submit your VAT return, online.

Because of the volume of paperwork involved in preparing VAT returns, most clients deliver it to our offices, or we call at their offices to collect.

If your turnover reaches the VAT registration threshold (see in a twelve-month period, you must register within 30 days. If you take over a VAT-registered business, you must register from the day you take over.
You can register for VAT, even if your turnover is below the VAT registration threshold.

We usually submit VAT returns for our clients on a quarterly basis. Your VAT submission dates can be arranged to coincide with your business year-end.
