If so you can claim for washing and repairs. The saving is up to £24 per year and you can claim for the last four years.

Initially a form P87 has to be completed either online or on paper (available from HM Revenue & Customs helpline). You will need to provide details of your job, employer, employer’s PAYE reference number and your National Insurance Number.

Once the form is processed and accepted by HM Revenue & Customs for future years your PAYE code will be adjusted to take account of the claim so you don’t have to claim each year.
